Rubber is a natural compound also known as latex, it needs to undergoe chemical reactions to turn it into more useful materials.

It is milked from several different types of trees in similar ways as to extraction of maple sryup

For example Vulvcanisation, the addition of heat and sulphur, make rubber suitable for use as car tyres.
