Go to the dept of corrections page for your state. Do an
offender search. Or some call it an inmate locater.
Or if it's something like a recent arrest, start calling the area
jails.

If you have your friends full name, d.o.b., and/or S.S.# , and you know what jail their in, just call the jail and give them your info and ask what is the bond, what are the charges, and what is the court date. You may want to ask if they have an attorney as the attorney, (depending on you relationship) may be able to give you more info.

You could just call your local jails and ask if he is in there. That is public information. Or you could try looking it up on your states Home page but alot of states don't have one availabe for that information.
