Always called my mum by her first name when talking to her. Not disrespectful just had a close relationship. Remember her as a person as well as the best mum in the world.

I use to when I was little, but for some people thaey call their parents by their names b.c. they are not that close with them or don't really respect them as a parent.Though when I was little it had nothing to do with those reason,I just called my grandma ma or mama so, and I always heard other people call my mother Rita so that's why I call her by her first name. That I guess is another reason people call their parents by their first name

After being called "Mom" by four kids and all the neighbors kids (my mom is very nice to everyone) for dozens of years my mother got sick of it and, for a few years at least, insisted we call her by her first name. She said she almost forgot what her real name was.

So yes I do.

Yes! She tunes out the word "mom". But when I call her by name she listens!

Yes, but I'm 46 and she's 74. We're both adults and she's not bothered.

No. Maybe when introducing them to other people. Like "This is my mom Eva." I'll still call her mom. I call my dad "Papa" even when I'm in public or around friends.

I did when they were alive. I didn't equate them with being my parents.
