Hello guardiana.

Benefit of the doubt he is quite mature in his outlook on life and sees things from a different perspective.
Maybe he is not mad but frustrated at seeing those he cares about constantly digging themselves into a hole.
Take care!

You just described me. Picture a person who has not had the best experiences in life and really never learned to cope with these. Over time you start to use sarcasm to fend off anyone who gets close. You also learn techniques to push these people away although you really care about them, but you just don't know how to show it without being the person that you are being. Try to understand that he's not doing this intentially to hurt you, it's just the way he deals with daily issues. They will hopefully work themselves out, Hell I'm trying to work them out of my life and it takes awhile.

What we don't like in others is really what we see and don't like about ourselves, and don't even realize it, he can't trust you because really he can't trust himself. I used to be the same way when I was a teenager and it was because of what I had gone through in the past and family members made me feel as if everything was my fault and I hated myself and in return hated the world, couseling did me some good, and I'm sure it will do your friend some good as well, God Bless

Is he smart? He may be intellectually arrogant. As for trust, it just takes time. But that is just my opinion. Why don't you discuss it with him?
