My friend has this bike chain that he has had his bike chained to for about 2 yrs or so. He doesn't want the bike anymore nor the chain that it is locked up with. He also doesn't remember the combination for the lock. How do he get the bike off of there since we do not know any of this anymore. The chian its self isnt very thick so maybe we could do something that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you loop the chain around two bars(longer the better) then twist it should break.

Otherwise a Tunsten carbide hacksaw blade (and hacksaw) at your local hardware store. a few bucks. (cut the chain not the lock).

"Picking the lock" isn't that hard if you can put a bit of tension against the tumblers.

Rent a pair of 3' bolt cutters...Or buy a hack saw...You can always grow grapes on the frame...
