yes, if you mean are his issues still valid today.
Shakspeare will always hold a contemporary interest, as he speaks of subjects which remain zlive, love, death, rascism (othello), triumph of good over evil, tragedy etc.
his issues are of interest, (even though the language is old fashioned)
he IS our contemporary

The answer is no, a contemporary is someone who is alive at roughly the same time as you.
