Do what you want! You only have one life on earth....you need to live how you want! Even if it does mean disobeying your parents. It may be hard, but you dont need to live your life like that! Then there would seem like nothing is worth living for anymore, and you dont want that to happen.(Trust Me...I've had experience)

Sorry to hear about your problem Tasha.
It's not fare on you why don't you tell your parents that you are an adult and that arranged marriages might have been the thing to do in there time but life is lived differently and you don't wish them to pick your husband for you, you will pick one yourself when you are ready and you are for the collage of your chose and if they don't like it you could live with other students.
Good Luck Tasha

You know i went to high school with girls like you. Most of them very Pakistani and Indian descent and most of them had to wear scarfs to cover their head and very conservative cloths to cover most of their bodies. But on other hand their brothers were allowed to do everything....go out, drink, have fun, bring girls to the house(of any race), dress the way they want to, etc. It is kind of messed up but women are more precious and weaker. They are hoping you cant give them ultimatum and set your rules because of your gender and probably age too. I honestly would to talk to them nicely (i am sure you already did by now) but if you emphasize on what will make you more happier i am sure WITH TIME they will understand. If that wont help cry, run away from house, do your way until they understand. If it matters to you so much and you cant life by the rules the want you ti live, and if normal begging dont help i am sorry to say but it is the only way out hunny.

You are 18 years old, and an adult...live your own life. Move out, move on. This is not the middle east, and it makes no sense to pretend it is.

I think that you need to talk to your parents and let them know how you feel. You are not a little girl and they need to understand.. Good Luck to you!!!!
