Concider a group of 100 children.

A) Then try to guess the % of children who where taught a particular beliefe system concerning Origin and Afterlife starting from birth that will believe said beliefe system.

B) Then try to guess the % of children who where taught a particular beliefe system concerning Origin and Afterlife starting from the age of 8 that will believe said beliefe system

C) Then try to guess the % of children who where never taught a beliefe system concerning Origin and Afterlife who end up with a certain beliefe sytem , and what do you sappose it would be?


Example: A) 96% adopt beliefe system
B) 15% adopt beliefe system
C) 45% agnostic
40% atheist
13% Bhudist
2% other

In general, I like your numbers, although I think that your B may be a bit low. But I know of no good data to support any of this.

Will you venture a guess about religion and children? Yes, I'll give it a shot.

A - 100%
B - 100%
C - 100% - the 100 children will have delevoped 100 religions, that meet their needs.

Darn it - FRUITCAKE has a great point about groups A & B. Many will change due to life testing their beliefs. Some will loose faith, while others become stronger. Good point.

You are assuming that children don't grow up and think for themselves. Many do and the % of those who accept each belief system would be interesting.

I guess it depends on the individuals involved as some tend to grow up a certain way and stay that way. Then some grow up and become a certain way as well. I will give you credit for being creative.

I think that no matter what the actual numbers are, it's a flawed study. Children turn into adults and hopefully learn how to think for themselves.

why do you presuppose that the belief system taught would not be
agnostic, atheist, or Buddhist?

I would choose C. agnostic. But I'm wrong a lot!! @8-)
