Is there a program avalable that one can use most of the popular messagers without downloding all the unnessasary pograms?

theres a program called trillian which allows you to use all of these at the same time. Google it and you can download it for free.

Trillian (free version), or Gaim is your answer.. I prefer trillian allows all major chats with multiple connections and skin effects. Gaim has the Linux feel to it.

Beside Trillium, PraizeMessenger also a good alternative. Praise allow user to connect with ICQ too.
If not mistaken www.praize.com/IM is the url.

i use TRILLION. I can enable AOL, MSN, AND YAHOO in one messenger service.
