There are these things called Calf Raises, and they are really simple. Alternate between being flat-footed and then going up on your toes. It should be pretty quick, but not really fast. One repitition (going up, and coming back down) should be about a second long. Do them with your feet in a normal standing position, your toes together, and your heels together to tone each side of your calf. Each rotation (toes together, heels together, normal) should be about 50 calf repititions each. You can work your way up if it's hard to do for a week or so.

An easy way to get stronger calf muscles is to walk up and down stairs for a while.

i work on a mountain and have found that hiking up it really works out my calves. if you don't have any uphill terrain to hike, try putting a high incline on a treadmill and walking very slowly but stealthily. another thing i do is calf raises on a large book with weights at my side.

if you do calve raises with a small amount of weight, your calves will get bigger. After each set of calve raises I find that walking on your toes really makes them burn. Also, After each work-out make sure you stretch the calves. If you do not they may get very tight and painful.
