China has over 200 million soldiers with nothing to do but train. We have at best 2 million with reserves and even those have been stretched thin with this war in Iraq. The Chinese could use a good war to kick start their economy into full production mode.

The US has the technological advantage, but China isn't far behind (mainly due to their theft of US secrets) Hey if you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'. I don't think either country would invade each other. The logistics of an invasion of that magnitude would be staggering. Besides, who want to invade the US with many of the citizens packing hardware similar to the US military?

Another aspect is where the war would take place. It wouldn't start in the US or China. Another country would be an unwilling host to a war involving the US and China. Maybe Korea would be the stage. Either way, the US doesn't want to deal with the logistics of transporting provisions halfway across the world in support of yet another war. The US would win any war provided the politicians let the top brass do their jobs. With the ability of field over 200 million soldiers, we would need LOTS of rounds to deal with these guys. If the politicians got involved in the Iraq war like they are now, I would give the nod to China. Also, Sun Tzu was Chinese and I am sure they would follow at least some of the lessons in his book, "The Art of War."

The US would win if a quick pre-emptive strike was used. It must be strong and effective enough to remove the desire to fight from the Chinese. If this war ever occurs, political correctness must go out the window. Collateral damage will exist and must be allowed on the scale of the firebombing of Dresden, Germany and Tokyo, Japan.

The Chinese would win a war of attrition, but as Sun Tzu said ..."If you expose the army to a prolonged campaign, the state's resources will be inadequate....no country has ever benefited from protracted warfare...the state is impoverished by the army when it tranports provisions far off."

As long as the brass can do their jobs effectively, without too much meddling from the "poli-chickens", the US would win hands down.

I know they are building the biggest navy fleet in the world. They have shown to be able to blow up satellites (good weapon) and I believe the US can do it too. It would most certainly not be a ground war until the end of the campaign. So who would win with missiles and attacks from the air and sea? Good question. I really don't think, with the size of each country an invasion would be possible. I say, stale mate, and that is why it will probably never happen. China has too much interest in our country doing well with all they've invested buying up our bonds and such. No war.

Who ever thinks china is a militia danger to usa is an fool. before everything at minimum china could wish 6 months to construct an airplane service, 2nd metallic could comfortably be produced contained in usa for a greater robust value of direction. 1/3 the war could be fought with missiles and we could say if it wasn't for some magical reason. China says war then tries mobilizing there coming to potential army yet whilst everybody recollects the U. S. became into in a position to infiltrate chinese language waters without detection comfortably. China could basically good deliver in line with danger 3 hundred,000 troops over at max there army is growing to be yet lack the skill for a mass amphibious invasion, so there first invasion could fail miserably. Then usa could use its Air tension which makes the chinese language AF tech seem prehistoric and it may be over. Numbers mean no longer something its particularly basic anyhow europe could immediatly come to our help who could actually very own each thing in china. yet in end the U. S. buys 40% of the chinese language products. If china have been to win there united states could final like 4 days. This crap approximately china is like soviet union, its just to scare people. usa needs opposition. you're very ideal whilst it is composed of morale with usa and china yet china has basically approximately no morale. easily if usa have been attacked via everybody you may assure on 2 allies Canada and Mexico for there places and reliance at usa. Israel that's arguably the acceptable militia interior the international and Japan who takes our area on very just about something. believe me a war with the present china is impossible.

I thought this was a possibility right before 9/11 happened. Remember we had a spy plane go down in China and our relationship with China was starting to get rocky? I thought Bush was hungry for war. Then 9/11 happened and we had a reason to go attack somebody. The China issued died.

Right now, with the USA's weakened military, I'd give the edge to China winning a war.

Someday, yes. I don't think that they will go directly at us but they do have to expand & we have so many agreements with other nations that we have promised to help in any type of take-over, that we could be involved; as in Korea.
We do not have the military personnel to fight a land war with them, it would have to be nuclear & we both would lose! Perhaps they still believe in the old Communist credo, "they will take us from within". With our debt & inability to pay, could be done without a shot fired! However, I do believe that American would fight this type of takeover, shots would be fired!

We would destroy any country we would fight if we put all our effort into it.

If you think Iraq is the best we can do you are sadly mistaken. Less than 1/20th of our true military force is being shown there.

We have thousands of wepons that are in secret and no one even knows about.

In a conventional war, whichever country that attempted to invade the other would lose. In an all out nuclear war both would lose, as well as the entire planet.

Depends where the war is fought, if it is fought near chinese soil the us chances of winning would be slim to none, but if it is fought on us mainland soil, the us would likely win.

What are you a warmongerer? Isn't one war enough? China is getting pretty powerful and if we can't win in Iraq, I'm wondering if we would win in China.
