"What separates us as believers in Christ is much less than what unites us." (Pope John XXIII)

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians.

Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):

By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

There are many minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

The Catholic church is over 2000 years old and was here before Methodist evolved. Some of the religious rituals are the same. But not all.

The Methodist Church is Christian. The Catholic Church seems to be something from the Medieval period.

They both are misleading. They both teach doctrines of men rather than what the Bible really teaches, such as the trinity, having a soul that separates from the body at the time of death, they both send their members off to war with a blessing to kill other members of thier religion in other countries, Methodists don't worship Mary, or thiink that she is the mother of God!, but they are very liberal in their allowing immorality which God finds unacceptable, but then so are the Catholics. They are both teaching false doctrines such as hell for punishment of unrepentant sinners. The differences don't matter as much as their similarities.

Methodists are less about ritual and try to go with the flow quietly. Catholics believe most of the same things but with more holidays and ritual

Methodists break everything down into simplicity....the big "gap" is their architecture (simple), very little stained glass and no gilding or gold anything anywhere. They also aren't keen on iconism and symbols. The only other differences are, no confession, no rosaries, and none of that "cross with the hands" thing (it has a name, I know, but I forgot). Other than that its the same religion.

Catholics follow the bible completely, Methodists leave parts out. They're both Christian, but Catholicism is the fullness of the Truth.
