certainly NOT any of the hawaiian islands. goodness, i can't imagine a more expensive place to live in the united states. what kind of real estate are you talking about though? you could easily find houses here for a million if you want a fairy tale life, but if not there are more reasonable houses. however, oahu is big city island life. it is not much of an escape in most areas.
and i know more people trying to move AWAY from the philippines than move there. i have heard nothing that would make me want to live there.

Queensland is good as its weather is warm and there are multiculturals ppl and modern living and its cheaper than US/Hawaii. Bali (Indonesia) is very affordable with its currency against US dllars.Tropic climate, laid back multinationals ppl, an island with easy acces internationally.Unique in cultures and religion.

Well certainly not Hawaii, which is extremely expensive and is the most isolated island chain on earth...Try Costa Rica..

I have a friend and her husband who moved to Costa Rico a couple of years ago. She said that housing and food are low, and the weather is beautiful. I'm sure you can check it out on the net. <*)))><

x2x,
I would recommend the Philippines...
Economically, it takes very little dollars to live like a king there. Metro Manila is a large city with modern conveniences...
