We want to watch the show tonight and I am stumped on how to keep our three year old girl entertained while we watch. I figure it is only so long she will want to color or do a puzzle. Thought I would see if anyone had any creative ideas. They need to create toddler academy award bingo....look for a lady in a red dress...look for a man with a beard...

Record the show and watch it after she goes to bed.
You may be her 'super hero' but you can't do everything at the same time!

My husband and I have that same dilemma, and I don't think people should get on you for wanting to watch the show. Geez! Parents need to have a life too, and sometimes that means your kids have to keep themselves entertained. It's not like you're dropping her off at the mall and leaving her by herself. Either create the Bingo game you mentioned, keep her on snack duty, or let her play in her room. She's got to have fun stuff in there, right?

P.S. I think the Bingo game sounds cool ...

Why not have a whole bunch of stickers, paper, etc.. and just let her create some nice pictures! Play doh is also nice, as well as scotch tape. Give her a roll of that stuff and ask her to stick it on the provided paper. My 4 year old also loves to use the hole puncher! It may make a bit of a mess, but it will be worth it!

I think the awards start at 8:00p.m. When she shows boredom would you consider a bedtime snack and a short story and say time for bed, honey. That wouldn't take too much time away from the Oscars for you, she would enjoy her time with you and then off to bed.

why don't you make a game like what you said. Just sit down now, and write a list of questions to ask your kid, before he/she can ask YOU the million questions. But other than coloring I would suggest finding a friend to come over to play with, or getting a sitter. good luck.

Well, depending on where you live the Oscars should be coming on very close to what should be your child's bedtime. Young children do not need to be awake past 8pm, put her to bed and enjoy the show.

You should make a little bingo card for her or something...lol! Tell her to look for different things they have or something.
