My Boxer lives inside, and always has (he's 5) He would rather be inside that out. They are good inside dogs.

I've had boxers and have one now. Mine have all been indoor/outdoor. They are good anywhere! They do, however, require plenty of exercise or they can become a bit mischievous! Your boxer will need to walk or jog daily. They are high energy animals and thrive on physical activity.

Indoors, they do well. They don't shed an awful lot, and generally, they are very trainable in terms of keeping them off of the furniture and counters.

If you are thinking of a boxer, keep in mind that they do not like to be left alone! If no one is home for more than three to five hours a day, this is not a good dog choice for you!

**edit**
I should clarify-primarily, a Boxer should be an indoor dog. Heat/cold extremes can cause them problems. During the summer months, limit his outdoor time to early morning or after sunset when the temps are cooler. In the winter, outdoors in short bursts!

I have a puppy that is part boxer and he is definately an inside dog! He will run around outside for a few minutes a couple of times a day, but he loves being inside and with people.

I think they make a nice inside dog. Although all none of my five dogs are boxers I do have a friend who has two boxers and they are both inside dogs.

Boxers do not make good outside dogs because their hair coat provides no protection from cold or very hot weather.
