If it is a lap down, yes, but typically, the car would be a lap down because the car was not handling well. But in more unusual cases, the car might actually be a good car that had a bit of bad luck. In that case it has a chance. I don't remember any example, but there are plenty of times where a car that is a lap down comes back to score a top 10.
And if a car crashes, it's impossible if the damage is extensive and cannot be fixed by a few pit stops. But if the damage is not too much, and the car can still run with the other cars, then that car will stand a chance. An example would be Dale Jr. at the spring Martinsville race, his right front got torn up, but they removed that part and it actually helped him finish 4th.
Another example would be Denny Hamlin, though you can't really call it a crash, most thought his spinout at the first Pocono race ended his good run, but he came back to win, considering that his left rear quarterpanel was kinda messed up, and he had to go through a lot of pit stops to fix the damage.

Sure it can. It could A) win on its own by passing all the other cars and gaining back the lap or B) becoming the Lucky Dog to get the lap back, then passing all cars on the lead lap.
I'd say its possible, but improbable that a car would crash, loose a lot of time, and come back to win the race. I can't think of any good examples off the top of my head of when this has happened.

Drivers winning from a lap down happen all the time. To have a car win after crashing has happened too, but that is a rare event. Usually, if a car is damaged and still manages to win it will be on a short track where aerodynamics don't play as big a roll.

They build the vehicles so on the fringe of tolerances that they are all in basic terms approximately same, in a feeling. they might have distinctive setups yet they're certainly a similar. returned interior the previous days there have been a lot of races that adult males gained by skill of a lap or extra. won't take place at present. There are too many suitable drivers. returned interior the day there would have been 5 or 6 adult males that ought to win any race any day. Now in basic terms approximately any 25 adult males can win a race rather at a song like Tona or Tally. that's an exceptional line to be consistent, save tires and be quickly and aggressive with out wrecking different drivers. this is the trick to it. The be the quickest guy continuously saving tires to final the completed gasoline run. you are able to make the tires final the completed run or you will as properly p.c.. it up. The cautions extremely help it to maintain anybody mutually reason you look to continuously have them. very few pass with out one. Daytona to me replace into in basic terms interesting on the tip. The race you extremely desire to observe, the completed race too, lol, is Bristol. it is in some weeks. make certain you watch that race and then see if it is boring or not.

Sure,,it's been done a lot of times. Back when nascar was nascar,,,drivers used to do it a lot. R. Petty was down 5 laps at Matinsville and came back to win the race. Now a days, with all the rules they have, you may come back one lap as Gordon did about 6 years ago at Bristol and win, but it ain't easy.

Yes, a car can win if they are a lap down because they just need the caution to get them back on the lead lap and race there way forward. It is not to possible to win if a car goes behind the wall

anyone remember bill elliot coming from 6 laps down at talladega back before the days of restrictor plates to win the race... and dale sr. did it a few times also.. those were the days before the lucky dog.. and lets all remember gordan coming from 2 or 3 laps down to win a race thanks to the lucky dog a couple years ago.. it has been done alot of times especially since the lucky dog came into action... which i have to say i agree with the lucky dog as i do think it makes it safer .. and wait till bristol or martinsville , short tracks like that... where every car on the track will have some damage by the end..

If your 1 lap down you can still win... but I wouldn't know about 2. And if your car crashes the race stops... then they restart where they all were when the guy has a new car.

At one lap down they may have a chance for the LUCKY DOG. They pit and have to get back out before the leader comes to the end of where the pit road comes out. After a crash, rarely, but it has happened, to a win.

the answer to both questions is yes

question #1---if it makes up the lap, and then finishes first, it can win the race

question #2----if the car that crashed comes back out and makes up any laps it missed and finishes first, then it can win
