It always sounds easy to say 'get another guy' or don't answer messages texts etc.,' But in my experience it's not always that simple. Especially as you have had deep feelings for him in the past and he still has them for you.
The only way is to allow him to bug you for a time but you must be strong and not put any emotion or feeling in your answers to texts and e-mails and certainly NOT end them with an X or two. Eventually he'll bug you less and less. If his bugging is frightening and threatening then be even stronger and stand up to him and tell him he's dumped and no matter what the threat it makes you less likely to take him back on any terms.
I had a 'clingy' girlfriend who just couldn't get it into her head that I'd moved on. She used to bombard me with calls and texts and e-mails but using the no feeling approach (and very short answers) she eventually found someone else. It took about six weeks though.
Good luck I really hope it works out for you.

Next time he starts bugging you tell him firmly that you are no longer interested and do not want to be with him.
If he keeps on harassing you then cut off all forms of communication with him. Block his email address, block him from phoning you. I know that can seem irrational and harsh but if he's really bothering you it needs to be done.
If he persists and it starts to get extreme, as a last resort go to the police.
Hope I've been helpful.

Often needs you to get a little nasty and heartless. Start with a question, "Why do you keep bugging me? What do you expect to get from it?" Share with him, that you have a fear he is becoming a deranged stalker. Basically you are out to shock him into accepting the end of the relationship. Just don't get personally insulting or nasty in a way that may get him to seek revenge. Leave the size of his willy out of it.

Simple - change your telephone number(s) and do not respond if he writes to you or knocks the door. if you bump into him anywhere out and he speaks to you say that you do not wish to be impolite but you do not want to maintain any kind of contact with him and then walk away (ignoring any unpleasantaries he may shout after you. Keep it up for long enough and he will get the message. (Oh and if he sends flowers give them to a little old lady who lives nearby and do not respond to say thank you.) Have done this twice and it works.
PS the little old ladies loved the flowers

Tell him it's over and theres now way of changing your mind. If he continues to bug you threaten to get a restraining order. It sounds extreme but it will definitely scare him off.

Next time he comes over, or calls you have a male friend answer the door or the phone. This may just get the message accross.

Don't answer his texts or phone calls. If you see him out, tell him in no uncertain terms that he is annoying you and that there is no chance you will ever be getting back with him.

Make sure you are not replying or acknowledging him in any way. Don't answer phone calls, e-mails, texts, chat, etc. Change your phone number and e-mail if possible. If you are close to his parents, siblings, or relatives, ask them to speak to him.
