why is your foot the same length as ur lower arm -from wrist to elbow and is this always the same with everyon

There are alot of proportional commonalities in the human body, I Imagine it has much to do with evolution, these proportions seemed to work the best so that's how we came out.
other commonalities
- your foot is about the same with as your knee
- your hand is about the same with as your elbow
- your femur (thy bone) is twice as long as your pelvis
- The with of your head is about the same as the height of your sternum(breast bone)
-your hand is about the same height as your scapula (shoulder blade)
-your eyes are about the center of your head top to bottom
- the bottom of your nose is about half way between your eyes and chin
-your bottom lip is about half way between the bottom of your nose and chin.
Ok, now I'm just getting nerdy - but you get the point. The body is made up of all kinds of proportional commonalities, probably because it helps with balance and function.

My six foot co-worker wears a size 6.5 shoe - her arm is longer. My 5.4 friend wears a size 8 - her arm is shorter.
neither person is out of proportion.
The measuring thing has a lot of soft tissue room for error. The tip of you nose to your thumb and pointer is approximately 36" for estimating how much fabric you need - but I wouldn't try to get it past the department of weights and measures.

well it was quite trouble trying to actually measure that.....and to answer your question........my arm is longer by about an inch than my foot.

hand open,fingers nice and straight ,no gaps,the distance between the tip of your thumb and the tip of your first finger is the length of your nose.Arms outstretched,middle finger to middle finger...that's how tall you are..........Don't know why it works
