You may not like this answer, but I believe that what is missing in your life is a relationship with God. You are at a stage where you are facing a cross-roads in life. You will either choose to follow God or you will flounder down the road toward an eternity without God.
The fact that activities that were enjoyable, but are not anymore, and feeling "attacked," while doing things to keep you from participating, are recognizable as demonic attacks to keep you from enjoying life and pushing you into searching for something you will enjoy. The world "enjoys" sin. If you fall into a life wrapped up in sin, you will not have a chance at an eternal life in heaven with the Lord.
You need to get involved in a bible based church or messianic synagogue. You need to find that personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which will give you the joy your life is now missing. Only God can fill the void you are feeling. I am praying for you.

It is well documented that physical activity of any kind - most particularly those activities in which you can exercise some competence (sport, diy etc) will help to lift mood. And, as explained by an earlier answer, there is a physical element, as the body is encouraged to release endorphins - which have a positive influence on mood. Of course depressed and anxious people do not find activity very appealling - but, inevitably, if attempted, 'affect' is always raised by it. It therefore pays to be strict and push yourself - even if only to go for a walk. Sport is a good release, because in addition to physical activity, it also requires the participant to engage with others in co-operative activity - and this means putting self-obsession aside for a welcome break, and, (hopefully), being valued by other people - both of which are very good for the spirit. Depression is essentially caused by low self-regard, and a feeling that the whole world is on your shoulders. Inevitably, it isn't - and its extremely important to get out, to engage in meaningful activity and put yourself in the company of others. Allow for the thought that, however badly you may feel about yourself, life does and will, change, and only good can come from re-engaging with life, looking outwards, rather than inwards.

Try doing it in chapters instead. Get creative Find an exercise class that you enjoy. I have depression and I have started taking Ballet its great!
The more u do it the more motivated you will be to get it up. It is good to know that others are struggling just like me!! Also there is a great website for depression www.reachout.com.au it is aimed at young people but has great suggestions!!

It's probably not exactly boredom, but lack of interest, which is actually a prominent symptom of depression. Your depression isn't being adequately treated. Maybe some symptoms are under control, but not all of them. Your doc needs to know this. Let's see, how do they put it "lack of interest in things that you used to enjoy doing?" something like that shows up on the depression checklist.

Sounds to me like you are holding back on your creative side which can be due to not enough confidence in yourself. Push yourself everyday to do the things you like and get creative. Every morning get out of that bed and remind yourself what a glorious day this is going to be. The way you start your day off makes a lot of difference you know.
Do something different. Learn painting or how to write music or write some poetry but get going. You can do it and know what? You are capable so do not think otherwise. Good luck!

Change your focus. You seem to be more focused on how you feel. More focused on the self. More focused on getting and recieving. Flip the script and start giving, helping others, making others feel happy and welcomed. You will find that giving is a rewarding and challenging experience in it self which leads to happiness and friendships. Be thankful for what you do have and what you can give, like a kind word to someone, knowledge, a helping hand, care and love. Fill your enviornment with positive images and friends. Keep your mind stayed on the positive things of life."Keep the good, discard the bad", this kind of thinking requires mental tenacity...effort, because our world is filled with negative imagery that affect, distract us from feeling good. So this is going to be like a jousting match for you...lol. Have fun with it.

Boredom has nothing to do with depression. You need to CARE about what you're doing or don't do it at all. Do you have children, because if you did you would never be bored!!

Volunteer - Help someone less fortunate than yourself.
There are thousands of wounded veterans in VA hospitals. Why don't you check out something like that?
