Okay, my hair isn't extremly curly, but is wavy, and kinda curly, it goes a few inches past my shoulders. I straighten my hair every night before school. It takes me about 45 minutes. i go to sleep, but i try not to move around a whole lot so it wont curl up again. but it still does. what is a way to make it stick straight without having to wake up really early to do so?

If you straighten it everyday, then it might be a good idea to get it permanently straightened. You can get this professionally done, but it is not cheap. I've tried the do-it-yourself kits that you can buy from shopko or walmart and they seem to work pretty well if you follow the directions right and have somebody help you, but it still isn't perfect and I still had to do "touch ups" with a straightening iron. If you don't want to go the permanent route, my favorite straightening iron is wet 2 straight because not only can you straighten your hair right out of the shower, but it works extremely fast on dry hair. With other irons it would take me up to an hour, but I can now get my hair straight in less than 20 minutes with Remington wet 2 straight. Hope this helps, and good luck! :)

I don't use a straightening iron. Instead, I dry my hair (not completely) and then I go back over it with a blow dryer and a large round brush. What I do is I first apply product (I like Brilliant Brunette Satin Shine), then take a large section of hair and lay it on top of the round brush (make sure you can see the bristles of the brush through the hair) and follow it down to the ends with the blow dryer. When I get to the ends, I usually curl the brush under, still applying heat from the blow dryer for a few moments. Then I take the blow dryer away and hold the brush curled around the ends for a few moments longer, keeping light tension on the rest until the hair cools. This sets it, and when I go to sleep on it, I usually don't have any problems the next day. If I do have any touch ups, I just do the same thing, and it's very quick. This also seems to work faster for me because I can fit larger sections of hair on the brush. It usually only takes me about 20 min. Hope this is of some assistance to you!

Maybe tie a breathable scarf around your hair? I have a friend that does that, but I have not done that myself so can't totally vouch for it.

What I can suggest though is make sure your room is cool and not humid and your pillowcase is absorbent. A dehumidifier could help. Moisture and heat makes the hair kink back up, and I don't know about you, but my head gets warm and damp when I sleep from being pressed against the pillow. Make sure your hair is TOTALLY dry when you sleep too.

If all else fails, you could try permanent straightening, like Japanese straightening, but it's expensive.

Hey buddy, I was having same problem. Just stop doing it every night and try a good permanent straightener only at any good parlor. After 2-3 applications your hair will be straight and no more staying like a dead statue in the bed. You should...no you must try that.

OMG I do the same exact thing=] but my hair is just a little longer lmfao. But maybe you can try adding Hair spray and then you can just straighten over it. Then when you wake up, it might be curly again, but the just add the hairspray and straighten over it.

-- if THAT doesn't work then just go get a good, high quality straightener. It might cost yah tho =/

Your hair and mine the two. My hair is phenomenally problematical to straighten, so i exploit a CHI. that is costly, besides the incontrovertible fact that that is nicely worth it. My first one lasted 4 years. Even then, that is perplexing to get the ends to cooperate. the main suitable way i will get my hair to artwork is while that is on that is 2nd day, or the day when I wash it. additionally, spray hairspray on the counsel of your hair in the previous you straighten it. as quickly as you straighten it, it is going to clump up, yet all you'll be able to desire to do is administered a broom by using it to repair it. sturdy luck!

I have basically the exact same hair as you, and I straighten it every night before school, also. I sleep with my hair on one side, instead of under my head on the pillow. If you have a really good straightener, your hair should stay straight until you wet your hair. Good luck!

get a home perm kit... (dont get the rollers!!!) follow the directions doing the patch test... apply the treatment on your hair and using a comb, comb hair straight ... use the least amount of time, follow directions to rinse...
this works great on taking the wave out of your hair, youll still have to do a little bit, but it makes it much easier... you may also want to wash and blow dry at night, and just "touch up in the morning... and everyother day, its not necessary to wash your hair every day unless you sweat a lot... try a straightening gel also before blowdrying... the one i love is PHYSIC... it lasts 16 hours... so i can definetly touch up and go in the morning...
good luck to you! i have 2 small boys and get up at 5am to get to work at 7 with the kids too, so my time in the morning is precious... this works for me... i have the same type of hair...
one thing i did do is get long layers... it took the thickness out and made it alot more manageable... mine is the same lenght as yours!!! let me know how you made out!!!
