The gullible can be persuaded to support a war based on non-existent evidence of a foreign threat.
The gullible can be persuaded that "the jury is still out" on global warming, even as the scientists are overwhelmingly saying that things could get very bad, and people will die, if we don't change our behavior *now*.
In short ... gullibility isn't just quaint amusement for those of us who know better ... it's not just idiots believing stories about moon landing hoaxes or flat earth societies or the earth is only 6,000 years old ...
