It's inflammation of the eustachian tubes that connect the middle ear to the back of the throat to maintain equal pressure, usually caused by some sort of allergy or other minor irritant to the membranes of the upper respiratory tract. I used to have really bad allergies until in my early twenties, and the pig noise used to get on my mum's nerves, but then grew out of it and it stopped.

I went to the doctor because of itchy ears. I was told the condition had been cause through cleaning my ears regularly with cotton buds, which had thinned the skin inside my ears and made it more suseptible to irritations. I use a small amount of vaseline to stop the skin from drying out and have to put cotton wool into my ears when I wash my hair to stop water, soap, shampoo, conditioner etc from entering my ears and causing further irritation. And no more cotton buds, only ear drops to clean my ears from now on.

You may need an ENT(Ear Nose Throat) surgeon to have an examination on you. They can be the best to explain this.
My suggestion though is that you could have an Issue with your Auditory canal. It is a tube like connection between your ear and your throat.(I do not want to make any suggestions but it sometimes happens to me when I have flue like infection or nose congestion).

omg, same problem...on the bright side, it cant be a serous problem, since it's really common. Maybe the ear canal is dry or something, or maybe allergies. If you find the answers let me know too. Good luck

First of all do not ease the itch with any object larger than your little finger.
You may need medication prescribed by GP for skin infection, bacterial or fungal.
Visit GP.

the itch inside your ears are from dry skin cells or it may be from the wax draining in your ear
