My opinion, depends on how far over 18 they are... big difference between a 19 year old and a 31 year old, smaller difference between a 25 year old and a 37 year old, even smaller difference between a 50 year old and a 62 year old.. It all depends on where they are in their lives.

There is an 8-9 year difference between my "friend" and myself. So far it hasn't been a problem but we are both getting on in years and I think that the older you get, the less a difference in age matters. But most importantly, I think it is between you and him. If neither of you has a problem then go for it. It's not important what others think.

I think age is just a number. If both parties are happy and getting what they need out of a relationship that the year they were born is completely irrelevant. If my husband was 12 years older (or younger!) it wouldn't matter to me. You love the person not the age.

Age is all in the mind. The senior partner will have experience and knowledge, which are good things; the junior will have a new way of looking at things, which is also good. Both can learn from each other, which makes the relationship a lot more interesting.

I think 12 years is a bit too much. I have always thought around 5 should be the max difference. That is just my opinion though..

It should only matter to the two of you. If you are 12 years older or if he is 12 years older is of no consequence as long as you are together for all the right reasons. How the two of you feel about one another is all that matters.

As long as it doesn't bother the ones that are dating/married it doesn't matter what the age defense is, oh and there over 18.

well .. for sure yu two will ALWAYS be different ppl ... although ther can/will be few similarities...not bad .. its better wehn one partner is more mature ... but at times the "younger" one tends to get gaps if any filled by someone of a similar age!!!!
beware.. and be loyal!!!
