But later is like in 5 years! She promised years ago and now she's promising all over againg. I've waited so long!! I just want a dog more than anything in the world.

Get her to look at the dogs, that you would like
also bring her to the shelter and say, look at all of these dogs that need homes. Also you could try saying, if i bathe it every 4 days, make sure it has food and water, give it a nice warm bed, and walk it daily. you should be able to compromise with her. usually the first time you get a puppy you fall in love with it the moment you get it. and pretty soon you want more.

What kind of dog is it that you must have? If it's a shelter dog you desire, then save up some money to pay for things like adoption fees, rabies and various shots, food, the dishes the dog will need for food and water, a crate for training the dog, leashes collars, and don't forget you will want to spay/neuter your furry little friend and it will likely need obedience training that will cost you because if you have never owned a dog, then the chances are you've never trained a dog.. If you want a purebred, then add at anywhere from $400 to $2000.00 to the amount you must save up. This would be a great way to show your mother that you have researched this, you know what is involved-including the costs involved as well as the sacrifice on your part. It may mean you have to give up some of your other essential needs like your cell phone, your abercrombie & fitch, your iPod, perhaps even that internet connection and computer etc. Surely, if you want a dog more than anything in the world, all of these little hurdles will seem like nothing.
If you can do all of this, then maybe your mean old Mommy will see that you can handle it.

I think you should show more responsibility around the house, like.... is your room clean without mom having to make you? Show her that you can be a responsible person. Maybe you should ask for something like a goldfish, then a puppy!!!
