If you want 12% of 1300, you just put a decimal in front of the 12 and multiply the two... like this .12 X 1300 = 156.

For single digit numbers such as 8% you add a zero after the decimal point... like this .08 X 1300 = 104.

I hope that helps...

need to think of total as '1' so thst 1300 = 1 so that 1 is equal to 100% now 12% would be equal to 0.12 now if you multiply 1300x0.12= 12% of 1300 say you were taking a test with 1300 questions and needed 65% to pass 1300=1test 0.65=65%
1300 x 0.65= 845 so 845 would give you 65%. now took test with 1300 questions and got 925 right then i would take 925 and divide but total number of questions (1300)
so 925/1300= 0.7115 move decimal 2 places to right and you have 71.15%
I hope this helps it took me years to understand but easy once you catch on.

% really translates to "out of 100"...so 12% is actually 12 out of 100, or 12/100. So all you have to do is multiply 1300 times 12/100. That would give you 156.

Okay, lets say you took a test and got 14 out of 15 questions correct. You get a calculator. Well, you do 14 divided by 15 multiplied by 100. Then you have 93.33333. Don't pay attention to the numbers after the decimal point. Your percentage is 93%. You might use it for somethinge else though its not always 14 out of 15 it can be almost anything. Hope this helps.

if you're looking for 12% of 1300, take 1300 and multiply it by .12. If you're wanting something like, 5% of 140, multiply 140 by .05. If you're wanting 112% of 50, multiply 50 by 1.12.

Basically, just move the decimal point.

Multiply the percentage times the amount and move the decimal place over two places to the left.

e.g.
12 * 1,300 = 15,600
now move the decimal point
= 156

156 is 12% of 1,300

Hope this helps!

Twelve percent, or "pp%" means, pp/100 times the amount. So "12% for Nothing" is a great song by Yes.
