I find it easier for me to burn 400 calories doing low intensity for 1.5 hrs then it is for me to burn 400 calories doing high intensity for 45 minutes. I am trying to retain or even add muscle mass on by also incorparating weight lifting into my workout. Is 1.5 hrs on low intensity too long, I don't get tired when I do it, I just burn a lot of calories.

Have you tried walking while using 3-5# arm weights? I find I get a very good overall workout, and not too much stress on my joints. Great toning too.

if you continue to focus on how many calories you are burning vs exercising for a purpose you won't get very far in your training.

you should be focusing on performing more "work" in subsequent training sessions. meaning if on February 1st if you were able to travel 6.5 miles in 60 minutes on the treadmill then by April 1st you should be doing 7 miles in 60 minutes. this is how you increase cardiovascular endurance and also how you gauge your training routine. this is another reason why keeping a training log is important. if at the end of the year you are still performing the same amount of "work" in the same amount of time don't expect much of a change in your body composition...
