Did you use chemicals and if so were they animal friendly. Cats are very sensitive to smell and it could be that there is a fragrance which is causing a allergic reaction. Best is to steam clean with no chemicals.

If they're still eating, it's probably an allergy to whatever you used to clean the carpets. However, it could still be the start of cat flu. Take them to the vet ASAP.
And, can I just say.... SIX cats that don't go out?! Your house must STINK! I can only hope that you've got plenty of litter trays and don't feed them yukky tinned food. I've got eight cats, but they ALL go out during the day. When they had cat flu and were all in for two weeks, my house absolutely stank. Good luck with them hon!

Could be the chemicals you used when you cleaned the carpet. Cats can catch colds and upper respiratory infections even if they're indoor cats but it sounds like just the cleaning. Especially if it hit them all at once and there's no fevers or breathing problems from large amounts of drainage or swelling.

Either it's a reaction to the carpet cleaning chemicals, or it could be URI, the cat cold, which they caught somehow. Call your vet or even take one or two in to get checked out. They'll know at the vet what's wrong.

Could be something int eh cleaner, When I first brought my cat home he started sneezing, a vet told me although he was vaccinated he was a carrier of cat flu and would only out out in time of stress. My thing is if its green get it seen. If not keep a close eye on them. Good luck.

It may be down to the carpets, but I would take them to the vets ASAP, it might be the flue, and this is one of those things that can be treated if caught early, but may be fatal if left.
It could have been transported into the house on your clothes or something like that.
Sorry to give bad news but best to be safe and get the checked.

Definitely, it sounds as if they are perhaps allergic to whatever cleaning products were used. As you probably know, cats are more sensitive than us usually. They'll be fine however I recommend taking them to the vets to have them checked out and perhaps get some antihystamines for them as it will be uncomfortable for them and if you get the vet to carry out an allergy test on them perhaps it can be avoided in the future.

It could be something you brought in. That is why regardless if the cat is indoor or an out door kitty it still needs it's shots.

have you used something like shake and vac, or a deodoriser, some cats can have an allergic reaction to them
