Somebody mentioned Pholcodeine, this is usually given for dry coughs. Green Meltus is good for a chesty cough or Benylin Chesty. Other than those I would suggest asking a pharmacist to recommend something.

Go to your doctor and get a prescription.
If you'd rather not have to go to a doctor, go to the grocery store and get your self some Mucinex and an over the counter inhaler It will dilate your bronchioles so you can get more phlegm out in each cough.
Try to get lots of Vitamin C (try Airborne, it's great) and do your best to take it easy and be patient while your body fights the cold.

Boil some fresh ginger with black pepper cinnamon and cardamom .when a nice extract is obtained strain it and drink it when hot on an empty stomach. the phlegm will be cleared by coughing.
Alternately u can drink about 2 litres of warm salted water on an empty stomach and try vomitting the entire water by tickling your palette.the entire water will be vomitted along with the phelgm.
drink a glass of warm milk with a teaspoon of turmeric before going to bed or early in the morning.
