As I said, I'm 14 and I'm a boy, my height is 1.63 m., I weight 62 kg., and my waist is 91 cm. long.
As you can see, I'm overweight and I want some tips to help me losing weight. The difficult thing is that my mum is kind of crazy, and she always says that I'm fine, and when I try to avoid some of the things (greasy ones) that she gives me to eat, she says "you're anorexic" and she gets mad and she punishes me, so I need suggestions she can't discover.
By the way, I don't eat a lot of junk food, I've actually cut it down and now I just eat chocolates and biscuits twcie a week.
Please help me! I'm desperate!

The first thing you should do before starting a diet is see your G.P as a sudden change in your diet can cause more minor to serious side effects. They will be able to tell you whether you need to diet by being weighed. Your G.P can then send you to a dietician who would put you on the best daily diet for you. I think if you do it the G.P way then you mum would have to listen.
You need to stop worrying about what others think and you must do this for yourself and nobody else or it wont work. If you cant face a G.P the best way is to slowly introduce new foods into your diet like fruit and vegetables. You could go with your mum food shopping. Instead of her putting in lots of chocolates you could say lets get some more fruit instead but get only 1 pack of biscuits or chocs. That way shes not buying lots for you and shes seeing that you are still eating but the healthy stuff.
A diet is not just about the food it is also about the exercise. That will have more of a big effect on your body size. You wont see it happen straight away but over a few weeks you will notice change. It doesn have to be down the gymn. Just small things like walk up and down the stairs a lot, walk instead of buses, even use tins of beans as weights. I find power walking is the best exercise. Again you should see a G.P before taking on any exercise that you are not used to.

Also dont give up on everything that you like to eat as you will only regret it and it will become a failed diet. Just reducing the amount of greasy and high fat foods and adding in more fruit and veg is best way. If I was you I would go to GP first.

The key to being healthy and fit and slim is:
drink lots of water, eat healthy and do exercise.
Fruit juices are good as long as they taste fresh and without loads of additives and sweenters. But also drink fresh water which is great for cleaning and clearing your system. Cut out fizzy drinks as they are a lot of sugar, acid and gas and harm your teeth, stomach and give you gas.
Eating healthy= balancing carbohydrates (pasta, rice, cereals etc), proteins (meat and eggs etc), fats (mainly greasy foods) and vitamins and minerals. You'll get the last two from fresh fruit juices but much much more from fresh fruit and vegetables. As long as you eat a variety of these and not the same ones all the time you'll get sufficient vitamins and minerals.
Breakfast in the morning is essential too. Having cereals or muesli help to keep you slim because they contain oats, wheat and bran etc. which contain fibre. Fibre is a substance that cannot be digested and so passes through the body, clearing out waste. This lowers the risk of constipation which can make you feel bloated and weigh more. This is because the longer a substance is in your body for, the longer time it has to be reabsorbed. Fibre in cereals also has carbohydrate which is what everyone needs first thing in the morning because it contains a lot of energy.
And last but not least exercise. Find something you love doing, like a sport and join a club. It can be in school or out of school but as long as it is something you enjoy doing you'll stick to it and have fun while loosing weight. It can be football, basketball, tennis, karate, fencing or streetdancing. Anything that involves moving about. If you don't have money, why not invite a friend round or go to theirs to play a sport? Or join a gym with a friend. Gyms also have activities that you can participate in so you could go to your local gym and find out what sports or activities they have there.
Exercise helps people to lose weight because the more you move around and use your muscles, the bigger your muscles get. By muscles it doesn't have to be your biceps or abs and it doesn't have to be noticeable in the form of a 6 pack for example, but regular exercise increases your metabolism (the rate at which food is broken down). Did you know that by doing half an hour of exercise your metabolism is raised, even 3 days later it is still higher than before you did exercise? Even participating in a physical activity once a week is good enough. And too much exercise can causes damage to your muscles. Do not do any heavy weights training as you are still developing and can cause damage to your muscles.
I hope my advice has been useful. And don't over-do it. Do everything in moderation.
and good luck!

Drink plenty of water and wash down anything too "more-ish" with a good half a glass. Fill up on things like rice cakes, celery and salad which give you the feeling of having had something to eat but won't pile on the weight. I don't think it is likely that you are anywhere near anorexic so just be open about how you feel about your weight with your Mum and stick to your guns - use the broken record technique if you have to!

Best of luck and don't worry you can do it!

I agree with the water drinking, and by sticking to natural foods u will side step all the rubbish that the shops pre pak. More importantly i wld talk to oyur Mum and tell her what youre going to do, i wldnt keep secrets, Your body does actually need a certain amount of fatty foods, it sees fat as long term energy, its good to have a bit of fat to fall back on if you are ill, it's energy. The worse thing fat can do to us apart frm making us fat, is congeal around our hearts and arteries, this is really dangerous and u r right to want to steer clear of it, but a certain amount is ok, nt brilliant, but ok. evrything in moderation. Dont stress, as stress has a massive negative on our body, also find a sport that u enjoy, exercise is a vital key to getting healthier. I know u hav prob heard this, cos i heard it hundreds of times when i was a 12stone teenager, it's puppy fat. by the time i was 17 i weighed 8 stone, it came off naturally, so mayb it will with u, all the best *

Try talking to your P.E. teacher or coaches at school. They could probably suggest a team sport you could start playing or exercises you could do. You could always try running or biking as well. I'm sorry your mother doesn't encourage you to be healthy. Don't give up though!

Drink more water; preferably drink it before you eat. Introduce more greens into your diet. Try and eat fruit first before other foods. A smoothie in the morning can work wonders. Try and introduce more raw vegetables into your weekly menu. Do some research on food and play with different types to see what you like.

You are only 14 yrs of age, most of it will be puppy fat, dont rush into something stupid, be strong with your mum and explain that you kneed to eat sensible, show her some documentation about cholesterol levels and how it can effect your heart. Remember the golden rule! sensible diet and regular gentle exercise will do the trick. Good luck

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.

But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.

So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Eat more water by eating juicy fruits. See site below.

Instead of the chocolate and biscuits try fresh fruit, take long walks or go to a gym, swimming is also a good exercise and does not put a lot of strain on your body.
