I have been/am a dog breeder/owner/show etc. we own chinese shar-pei and chinese crested's .. First heat can vary greatly dog to dog. The youngest is about six months of age though sometimes a female will come into season younger and sometimes alot later we have one female crested whom is a yr and she has not had her first cycle yet. and one of our pei came into heat 7mnths of age. Some females of the larger breeds however, may not have their first heat-cycle until they are 12-24 months of age. so it definatly depends on the female . hope this helps you!!

Around 5-6 months of age. After the bleeding stops for the next 2 weeks she may get pregnant if exposed to un neutered males.

i had my female dog at the vet last week because she was in heat, i thought she was too early at 7 months but the vet said they can go in heat from 6 months to a year, smaller dogs will go earlier, at 6 to 9 months and large dogs nearer the year, hope this helps.
