I like this amazing guy, but I have NO idea if he likes me or not. How can I tell without asking him about it, or telling him my feelings? We are good friends and I am afraid that if I tell him and he doesn't feel the same way, our friendship will be ruined. I don't want that to happen. Please give advice!!! He keeps giving me mixed signals, like he compliments me, then kinda ignores me. I know his compliments aren't JUST if he likes me, he is so sweet to everyone. He is the perfect gentleman. I'm so confused! Help!

We are both in highschool, and we have the same circle of friends. He has had another relationship, but they are just friends now. Sometimes I catch him staring at me, like I did tonight.

Just be bold :)
Tell him you like him a lot - see what he says :)
It won't hurt you - the most he'll do is say "I like you a lot too" but he may throw in some additional info - like "I like you as a friend," or maybe more positive like "I think you are amazing"
Queue in on key words he uses with you.
Have fun with it - you could even ask "What kind of guy should I date?"
See what he says - and then say playfully "What if I dated a guy like you?"

Unless you are a mind reader, you CAN'T tell. You seem reluctant to take a chance, so how do you expect to find out? Just a possibility -- maybe the times he ignores you occur because he thinks you don't like him? Maybe he doesn't want to bother you?
Hey, sometimes I have taken the plunge and gotten rejected. Once the girl had made signs that made it appear that she wanted to be with me. So basically, guys cannot tell either -- UNLESS the girl makes it clear enough.
The best idea I can think of to start off is to ask him why he seems to ignore you sometimes. Ask if something is wrong. That might clear things up. Chances are that he will say something like that he didn't realize he was doing that, especially if he hasn't done it in a while.
I respect your decision not to ruin a friendship, but honestly if it ruins a friendship, he's a weirdo. There was this girl who started ignoring me after she heard I liked her. Only then did I realize what a jerk she was. If you respect the friendship but just want him to know that you like him too, that should only ruin the friendship if you offend his morals. Treat him like a person and all should be fine, unless he's a jerk like that girl I once knew was.

OK well here is the most SIMPLEST way of finding out..,
Guys & Girls smile uncontrolably when they see the girl/guy that they like so this is what you do..
GIVE HIM THE BEST SMILE THAT YOU CAN GIVE HIM!
If he smiles back a really happy/big smile, CONGRADS!
If he smiles in a polite way or if he gives you a weird look..
Im sorry to say but "MOVE ON!"

What age are you both? Where do you interact? Have you ever simply had lunch together? Does he ask other girls out? More info!!
If he asks girls out but not you, he's not interested. If he is shy, then you need to probe deeper.

i don't think theres a clear way to find out,.....but if you tease him lightly,... see how he reacts,...oh,...wait,......you're friends with him,.....hmmm,....i don't know,.....i got some mixed signals too,....just like 5 times or something,....
