Have some Horlicks about 9:15 pm and you'll be fighting to keep your eyes open at 9:30. My mum had the same problem and it works a treat. But if it is every night you shouldn't rely on it all the time. Something must be causing you to not fall asleep. Maybe some form of anxiety. Is there some significant event that is coming up maybe that could be on your mind even though you don't realise it? Are you stressed at all? It might also be the food or drink you are having. Do not drink tea, coffee or soft drinks after 6pm or have cheese or spicy food or smoke.

I work from midnight till morning. Sleeping at noon till eight in the evening is rough when you live next to an airport. I find having a noisy fan running helps block out those distracting thoughts. Tuning your radio in between stations where there is just static, white noise they call it, does the same thing. You can take St. Johns Wart, a herb, found with the vitamins in the store, or Melatonin, which will help. Chow, and good night, smile.

Try not eating anything immediately before you go to bed - say 6pm last food.
A milky drink sometimes helps, again, don't wait until just before you go to bed - try it at 8:30.
What time do you get up at ? try getting up a bit earlier and see if that makes you get sleepy earlier at night.
Try reading something like a trashy book when you go to bed - something that will not keep your brain active !
take longer deeper breaths - like you do when you're asleep
Put a lower wattage bulb in your bedside lamp - keep the light levels low.
Try not to think about anything in particular - such as what am i doing tomorrow !
Good luck and sweet dreams (hopefully)

hi i am 16 and i always have this problem. i have been like this for ages now. but sometimes hot milk helps and if you have a diary write in it just before you go to bed and it will make your eyes tired and you will want to go to sleep. clear your head of thoughts before you go to sleep. however don't drink hot chocolate before bed because this has sugar in...not a good thing to help you dose off. also don't eat anything after 6pm because this gives you energy and you will be awake longer at night. best of luck. x

I know some, If have like a CD player you could put on some peaceful music. Or have like a air freshenor that will put some freshness in the air. Or you can light some candles, Get that candle that after a while it turns into oil then goes out.

If you are not tired when you go to bed then stay up a bit longer, or make yourself a cup of hot chocolate take it to bed and read for a short time until you are ready to settle down. Do not clock watch.

Sleep, ah sleep; sleep, as in the "issue of". Ah, yes. Chamamolie tea? Warm bath. Good deeds. Candlelight. Good romantic novel. I mean, I'm a guy and all, but I'm also a librarian and I've been around many women in my life, and if you want to get to sleep the best way is a good long orgasm.
