I was reading through the guiness book of world records and I noticed that the height to the roof of the Sears Tower and the height to the tip of the antennae were both higher than the height to the roof of the Petronas Towers and the height to the tip of the antennae. Yet the Petronas Towers are listed as being taller than the Sears Tower. Every source I go to lists the Petronas Towers as being taller than the Sears Tower, but the information clearly shows that the Sears Tower is taller. Does anyone know why this is?

You must consider the highest occupyable floor to answer this question.

"The Petronas Towers are taller than the Sears Tower, and the new tower in TAIPEI IS TALLER THAN THE PETRONAS TOWER."

Actually, like j4rg0/\/ said, the data supports the sears tower being taller. Here is the data.

Sears Tower
Floor to roof 442 m
Floor to antenna 527 m

Petronas Towers
Floor to roof 403 m
Floor to antenna 452 m

Clearly the Sears Tower beats it in both categories. I know what j4rg0n is saying, but I do not know how to answer it. Good luck.

The Petronas Towers are taller than the Sears Tower, and the new tower in TAIPEI IS TALLER THAN THE PETRONAS TOWER.

And I think a tower that is planned to be built in Dubai? that is taller than either ones mentioned.
