Sounds like he needs to see a doctor. Just to be safe. Especially at that age.

The occipital nodes on the back of the head form part of the lymph system that drains the scalp in that region - has he had a cut, sore or infection on his head anywhere? Can you move the skin over the lumps (i.e. are the lumps deep to the skin) or do the lumps move when you move the skin (i.e. fixed in the skin).
How is he in himself? Does he have a temperature?
The other thing they could be are sebaceous cysts. These are blocked sweat glands that fill with sebum and sweat and they have a tiny hole in the middle. Mind you, he is a bit young for these but you never know.
Other lumps that occur in the midline (as this is where the skin fuses as the baby develops in the womb) are dermoid cysts. In a child of his age, whatever they are they will almost certainly be harmless so try not to worry.
Make an appointment with your GP to get them looked at as it will put your mind at rest. If you think he is unwell in addition to the lumps then get him looked at sooner.
Good luck.

Are you effective it is not in basic terms a lump on your cranium brought about by skill of a prior blow to the top? I certainly have an extremely lumpy cranium because of the fact I certainly have bashed my damaging head a warm over the years (be conscious to self - be extra careful). it must be well worth going to a doctor in basic terms in case.

Well not being a doctor myself, take him to the doctor as soon as possible.
I think maybe getting medical advice on yahoo answers for your son is slightly going down the wrong road.
Ring the NHS direct helpline,
You need to speak to a proffesional!

Just to be sure he is OK, take him to the doctor and have him checked out to make sure all is well with him.
He hasn't been hitting his head on any thing, has he? Is he around other children and he maybe has been getting hit in the head by one of them?

Glands back there. Usually not a problem. Check with your doc next visit just to ease your mind.
