I am definite he is holding back. He is just so emotionally silent but physically expressive when with me. What shd I be doing? Keep sharing and wait patiently (but I don't know for how long do I have to wait?) or is there anything else a girl can do to help him feel safe enough to say it? How do I probe without sounding like I am invading his space? I dont even know if he loves me :(. Yes, he has been hurt before.

I had a guy like that, my ex in fact, his emotions got in the way of our relationship because he refused to share his emotions and thoughts with me, but was willing to physically show them.
Looking back, I wish I would have just sat him down and told him how I felt and explained to him that I'd always be there for him no matter what, show him how easy it is to share your emotions! He needs to get comfortable first before he lets you in, like my ex, one girl screwed him up for life.. and he's stuck that way! No matter what happens between you two, let him know that you'll always be the one to remember, and that you care for him exceptionally. Try talking about this other girl that hurt him. He maybe backing away because he felt like how he did for her and now he's found you, he may believe it will go down the same road!

Don't all guys hold back their feelings? According to what you wrote he isn't emotionally silent but he doesn't say what you want him to. There is a difference. Actions speak louder than words and so you should pay attention to what he does instead of what he says. Besides, if you really are patient and care about him then you should be willing to try and understand that not all people are the same and guys tend to bottle up emotions. you should just ask him casually one day during a lull in one of your conversations like: "Hey, I was wondering...do yo love me?", but without any pressure if he tries to back out. Ask him agai nlater if he can't answer now but if he keep savoiding the question then it might be a sign but not now.

I wouldn't try and force it from him. I would try and pay more attention to what his "physical" expressions are saying. Let him tell you and then he will feel a lot safer. If you force him he will probably flee. Love takes a lot of patience. Good luck. Hope you don't have to wait too long.

Well I believe he is holding back because maybe he feels like he just cant open up to you yet which means he doesnt love you... Yet. If you continue to feel for him, maybe things will change in a matter of weeks or less! just give it time! if he doesnt open up in like 2 weeks i would talk to him and tell he exactly wats on your mind! good luck!

I'd say you should hold back your feeling's until you'r sure how he really feels that way you won't get hurt as bad.

im female and my feelings were stomped a guy tried to love me but i played that i had no feelings its part of protecting oneself stay there for him please hes seeing if youll be there.Dont give up you could lose the best thing youve ever had.
