I am sorry, but this question is funny. Malcom X preaqched peace!? to who!

He was a prejudice and biase person if I ever read about anyone, he is the one, and he is not the only one. There are hostile Muslims, that is true, but there are peaceful Muslims as well. There are hostile people of every kind, not just Muslims.

As for Malcom X. He preached peace for those who agree with him. Did you he was not with Martin Luther King, the true person who did preach peace. He only preached peace for the Black people. That is not peace. Peace is for one and all, no matter what religion, color, creed or whatever. He didn't do that. That is not peace. That is selective peace.

Malcom X is only one person. If you wonder why the some Muslims are hostile! Why not question the main person who brought the religion to them, not one person who has so little effect on the who nation of Islam and the Muslim people in whole!

The difference is attitudes is simply human nature, and who and what drives a person to do what they do. Whether it is for good for all, or some, or just the very few.

Thank you Larry.

Malcom X preach peace? Where did you get that?

Malcolm X (1925-1965), later known also by the religious name El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, African American activist. His militant views that Western nations were inherently racist and that black people must join together to build their own society and value system had an important influence on black nationalist and black separatist movements of the 1950s and 1960s. His beliefs gained a broader audience through The Autobiography of Malcolm X (1965), published after his assassination

Early Life

Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of Earl Little, a Baptist preacher, and his wife, Louise. The family moved to Lansing, Michigan, shortly after Malcolm’s birth. Earl Little was an outspoken promoter of social and economic independence for blacks and a supporter of the "Back to Africa" movement of black nationalist leader Marcus Garvey. In 1931 Earl Little was killed, probably murdered by white terrorists because of his political and social activism. Although Malcolm words often stung with the injustices against blacks in America, the equally racist views of the Nation of Islam kept him from accepting any whites as sincere or capable of helping the situation. For twelve years he preached that the white man was the devil and the "Honorable Elijah Muhammad" was God's messenger. Unfortunately, most images of Malcolm today focus on this period of his life, although the transformation he was about to undergo would give him a completely different, and more important, message for the American people.

Larry, you are mixing a lot of different social issues. Malcom X preached peace and was strongly influenced by other religious men of the time.

I think if there are many radically violent muslims (I do not know any, the ones I know here are people of peace and love) that perhaps we need to ask them why they feel as they do.

Malcom X fought hate and prejudice of the black man. I am not sure all Muslims have that same issue.

David Koresh claimed he was the next Christ. He also had a compound in Waco, TX where he convinced all of his cult members to share thier wives and children *nasty, right?*. He had a shootout with the ATF and FBI, too. Yet, not all christians are sociopaths (some aren't smart enough to be). That's like saying that there was a NAZI SS officer that rescued a Jewish family behind his party's back, and then asking why all NAZIs weren't like that.

I can't explain it except to make a comparison with something more familiar to you and I am going to make an assumption here that you are a christian. Jesus preached peace and love and turning the other cheek and yet there are so many radically hateful, intolerant christians. It's no different.

Macolm x was not peaceful. He was a black racist and a black panther..... he embraced islam because of its radical and violent nature. He called the white man the devil just like modern terrorists do. It was somewhat understandable at the time, because there were racists white people too. However, he was not peaceful in his politics, and did a lot to betray black people, by immersing them in more hatred, and a religion that mentally enslaved them.

He preached separation of the races...where did you get the idea he preached brotherhood? And he certainly wasn't non-violent. In fact he called MLK an uncle tom.

Jesus preached peace and there are MANY hostile Christians.

Some people just don't listen to those they supposedly admire or worship.
