Here's how we make ours. Put the brisket in the crockpot with the seasoning packet, 1 beer (preferably light), about 4 cups of water, 2 quartered potatoes, carrots to your liking, lots of garlic, and a few bay leaves. Cover and cook on high for 6-8 hours.
It comes out so tender and shreds so easily.
P.S. Do not trim off the fat from the brisket. Lots of flavor there.

Put the corned beef into the slow cooker . Cover it with water. Cook on slow overnight.
We like to dry it out some by putting a glaze on it of jelly and cinnamon and putting it under the broiler till it bubbles ,serve.

Take seasoning packet and put half on the fat side ... rub it into the meat (if not it will just wash away when you put in the water. BE SURE TO PUT IT IN THE POT FAT SIDE DOWN! Take remainder of seasoning and put it on top of the corn beef. Add about a cup of water (do not cover the top of the meat, about 1/2 up ... the meat will create additional juice).
Cook on high 3-4 hours
Cook on low for 5-6 hours
Enjoy!!!!

you haven't any longer carried out something incorrect - it merely isn't carried out yet. sluggish cookers are precisely that - sluggish! do no longer flip the warmth up - boiling it incredibly is going to merely make it extra durable! you should permit it proceed on low for yet another 3-4 hours a minimum of. I do my corned beef in a crock pot all of the time, and it merely takes endurance! (that's hard, i be attentive to, by means of fact it smells so tremendous!). merely permit it cook dinner and additionally you would be rewarded with a corned beef that falls aside - magnificent stuff, I promise!

My fav way is.....
put the brisket in the crock pot, add a sliced onion, the spice packet that comes with the brisket, add a pint of Guinness and enough water to cover the meat. Cook for 8 hrs on low. Boil your cabbage and potatoes, and carrots on the stove.
Guaranteed to make all Irish eyes smile!

I have one in right now and all I do is put the little seasoning pack in and a cup of water and by dinner time it will be done. I assume you are talking about the packaged kind. My husband likes to add cabbage at the end but I prefer not.
