Never feed ANY dog chicken bones. Chicken bones splinter and can get stuck in their throats and kill the dog.

No. But we have 2 beagles and when they were about 5 months old, I forgot to take out the trash when I left for 20 minutes and they ate an entire chicken carcass. Took them to the vet immediately on return. No problems - at all. Wouldn't recommend this at all though.
And as for Grumpy's remark about humans not eating chicken bones either, I love to crack open the bones to get the marrow. I have done this since I was a kid - and I'm way beyond kid age now. No harm done.

Yes, but they should be raw, and still have meat on them.
My dogs eat raw chicken nearly everyday. I change up their chicken with turkey, beef ribs, whatever tends to be on sale. Chicken is just the easiest and most cost effective meat so its their staple. They also get raw eggs, shell included a few times a week, as well as organ meat.
Raw bones don't splinter like cooked bones, and they are what dogs are designed to eat. Kibbles have only been around for say 60 years. Not nearly enough time to change a dog's digestive system to be able process cooked foods efficiently.
Kibbles also are horrible for teeth, don't buy into the hard and crunchy kibble cleans teeth thing, it doesn't. Its why our pets dental health is at its absolute worst. Raw bones however DO clean teeth.
I've been feeding raw for over 2 years now, and both I and my dogs love it. They are VERY healthy, full of energy, and look awesome. As far as OMG the dog might choke on a bone. Ever hear your dog make that funny "harf" noise while eating kibble? guess what, he's just choked on his kibble. There are documented cases of dogs choking on kibble and dieing, not one documented case of a raw fed dog choking on a bone and dieing.
As far as bacteria, safe meat handling practices should always be done. I'm sure you do it with your own food everyday. Also a dog's digestive system is suited to handle a higher bacteria load than ours. Ever wonder why a dog can rummage through the garbage and eat some nasty stuff, and not get sick? That's why. Feeding your dog a raw diet is not only healthy for your dog, its what they were designed to eat, and its no more difficult than preparing your own food. In fact a little easier since there is no cooking involved.
So go ahead and give your dog a bone. :)
There is another diet option other than dog food. Some people choose to feed a raw diet. This involves feeding the dog raw meaty bones and organ meat. However it is not as simple as throwing a couple chicken bones in a bowl everyday. If you wish to feed this type of diet, do lots and lots of research first. Switching to this diet without knowing what your doing can lead to nutritional problems for your dog. I'll give you some links as a starting point in research if you are interested in this type of diet.

Chicken bones splinter forming very sharp pointed needles which can penetrate a dogs stomach lining, intestines etc. and can even be fatal. Stick with dog chews from the pet store and feed him regular puppy chow or canned food.

No. You really can't feed any age or breed of dog chicken bones. Chicken bones splinter really easily and if one splinters while the dog is eating it, the piece can cut the dogs mouth or throat, or he can choke. You can do other bones like steak and pork bones though. My dogs faveorite is ham bones.

No dont. There teeth might still be weak and my neighbors puppy died becasue they strated cracking the bones and choked. You can ask your Vet when it gets older but with a puppy its a big risk.
