advise them that you are willing to accept the consequences if it does not turn out right, and show that you are responsible. if you have a habit of making right and good choices then your parents will see that you would not make a decision that would have a negative effect. otherwise they are going to think that you are just making a decision based on what you want at the time or what your friends are doing. without some basis to trust your decision they are not going to let you dye your hair.

Hey girly! So i'm going through the same thing. but instead of arguing and yada yada just explain that this is important. tell them why you want to so badly. explain to them that you have worked hard so it's about time they pay up! Let them know that you are doing this not for popularity, but because it's your decision to make. Let them know that if you dye your hair and it doesn't turn out right, you will leave it that way until it fades. Or tell them you will try doing a few day color like food coloring? koolaid ( i think) to even see if you like it! really hope this helps! Xo and good luck hun!

I just had to do this just the other day. You should talk to your mom first (she is normally more understanding about things to do with hair) and talk to her about it. There are types of dye at the stores that are semi-permanent that only last about 4 weeks or 28 washes, this is a lot more comforting then something that will last forever because their main concern is probably that it will look bad or might ruin your hair. The semi-permanent dyes dont have ammonia in them or anything so it wont damage your hair.

I'm in the same situation. I'm convinced my mom to let me get semi-permanent hair dye. I just told her that I did my research and found a good one with low peroxide. So once I dye my hair with that and like the color, I'm going to be like Mom, I really like this color and I was wondering if I could dye it this color permanently. She'll most likely let after talking to her for awhile. lol

if ur trying to dye them a weird color like blue or purple. forget about it, but if it's sumthing that is more of a natural hair color, then ask them in a mature way. they might question u y u want the highlights, so u have to think of an answer ur parents will accept.

I am going through the same problem. I just told my mom that i would be more responsible. And just try dong something nice that will make your parents happy. Like clean the house while they are gone. Or if you get an allowance just tell them that you are going to pay with your own money. Also tell them that everyone is doing it in school.

im not sure, my parents just dont care...it might help if you pay for it yourself, thats what im doing.but make sure you get it done professionally and not out of the box. also dont make a habit of coloring your hair all the time. i have friends who are 15 and they dont even know what their natural hair color is.

you want PINK stripes in yr hair? I'm not sure I would let my daughter do that. How old are you? Your school may not approve.
