Hi

After my thread yesterday " can a migraine have the same effects as a stroke" i need to know one thing.

How long can the numbness in the one side last and should she be getting better?
Her speech is still slurred and she is walking with a limp.

Its been 5 days and today she seems slower and is dragging her leg.

Many thanks
Angel x

How old is she. Maybe you should go to a doctor.

I would get your sister to her doctor, she sounds quite poorly they should do tests, my friend had exactly the same symptoms a few years ago. It is perhaps just the effects of the migraine that are causing the trouble but it could be other things. Good luck and do not worry you can not do anything more than you are doing.

She needs a doc by the sounds of it. Physical therapy will help the functioning of one side of her body to bring it back; slurred speech is a sign of a stroke

She needs to go to a doctor. It is not okay for someone to have numbness on one side and slurred speech.

my friend gets migraines and has never been like that, could be a stroke or "BELL'S PALSY" she should go to the doctor either way, just to make sure and if she does get migraines alot try a chroipratier(sorry spelling sucks). But be sure and see a doc.

she needs to see her gp asap.
it does not need to be as severe as a stroke it could be bell palsy (think it is spelt right) that afects all your nervous system but is not long term damaging as a stroke.
strokes, TIA's CVA's are dangerous if left for long periods so seek attention tomorrow morning
Good Luck

Take her to see a doctor as soon as possible. It doesn't sound right. Call NHS direct and your doctor should come and see her or send her to the hospital. Let us know and good luck.

What r u doing asking this question you should be on the way to hospital instead of sitting typing while your sister obviously needs help.

5 days is way to long for any kind of headache.
You need to get her to a doctor, or hospital.
