Hi,
Well I hardly e-mail someone else, unless they e-mail me. I feel that people using YA, is there to give opinions, if you don't like what someone else say, so what? That is why it's called Yahoo Answers. It is all about respect.

I tend to e-mail people who I agree with more than the ones I disagree with. Besides, I find that when I do message someone who has answered a question I posted and I didn't agree with their answer and I wished to have a discussion about it, they never reply. I don't message people to be rude, I just want to understand their view better. (And I agree with Squishy, sometimes I have felt it necessary to e-mail someone when their answer is grossly misrepresenting some aspect of mythology I am familiar with.).
That and it gets confusing because every message's subject line is "You have received a message from another Yahoo user", so when you get 10 of them a day, it can be hard to make sure you reply to all of them.

I just emailed someone a few minutes ago because I wanted to challenge the outlandish answer they gave to a question someone else posed.
nothing wrong with doing it. If the person decides to allow people to email them, they should expect to once in a while get an email!
god bless

I think I've only ever intiated email with one person here and that wasn't to disagree with their answer, but to follow up with the asker on a question I had answered. I've had a couple of people email me because they disagreed with an answer I wrote, but neither of them were disrespectful and in the end, they both realized that we actually shared the same opinion, but they had misunderstood my wording of the answer.

I've never done that. I usually email people I consider friends or email people to show my appreciation for what they have written...regardless of religious beliefs.
I, too, have gotten plenty of hate mail but I've got some really nice emails from christians telling me that they liked what I wrote.

No I wish to have no direct contact with the members here. I'm a lone wolf not a part of the Yahoo Answers community.

I exchange a few messages with those who send me through 360*, and once in a while, I'll get a response from others, mostly positive..except this one when I got into a flame war with "I've Got a Ruler", but she turned out to be reasonable, even though I really did insult her. (my bad) But no, usually I don't email anyone. I've never been formally introduced.

Occasionally. Usually only when I want to make a comment about something that I want to understand their point of view on, or if I think they are saying something because they lack a piece of knowledge that I have. I generally only e-mail people if they seem open-minded and intelligent. Otherwise, I really don't care what they think.

no, that's kind of rude. i just ignore it, maybe thumbs down if it's offensive, that's about it.
i only use the email if someone emails me, it's about even with people who are nice and want to start a conversation and people who feel the need to let me know they disagree with me.

No, never!
Why -- Because it's their opinion's not mine, therefore should be respected.
(If can't take their feedback then don't even go on to this site)
Then again there are some that should just leave some question alone if don't know, can't or just being silly ALONE....
And that even goes for me at sometimes....
