In order for Mayweather to get his *** whipped De La Hoya is going to have to adopt a style of fighting he has not used before. He going to have to turn brawler cut off the ring, employ a relentless and accurate body attack, be the bully. Oscar won't beat Floyd if he uses that stand up straight, classic left jab, straight right, left hook to head style that has won him so many fights, and cost him a few losses. This might be a tough thing to for Oscar to do. That has been his fighting style since he was an amateur. I may be wrong but I've never thought of Oscar as a great or even good body puncher. He likes to fire at the head, as once again, he's done since the amateur days. Oscar's got this fight the way he wants it. It's being fought at the weight he wants to fight at, a definite advantage for him. But can he capitalize by turning himself into an inside fighter/brawler with consistent body attack. If tries to stand on the outside and out speed Floyd he has no chance. Is Oscar talented enough to pull this change in style off? I think so, but as any fight fan or any one that's fought knows when the pressure is on and the fight gets tough you revert back to the style of fighting you are comfortable with. We'll see what happens on Cinco de Mayo.

J.T. ~
I sure hope so. I've never liked fighters who ran their mouths like Floyd does. Ray Leonard did, but the biggest difference between Ray and Floyd is, Ray fought the very best in his era and fought fighters that were also in their primes. If Floyd does beat Oscar, what would it really prove? That he beat a fighter almost ten years out of his prime. Leonard, Hearns and Duran all moved up and fought the very best in their primes fighters.
Oscars left hook to the body is going to be the biggest difference in this fight and if he decides to box against Floyd, if he doesn't land his left hook and if he decides to outbox the younger and much faster Floyd he loses. Oscar is a converted southpaw, meaning that all of his power is in the left hook and Floyd's style of fighting is custom made for the left hook, he keeps his left hand down by his waist and the majority of weight on his rear foot and rolls away from punches thus leaving the right side of his body open for left hooks.
If Oscar makes Floyd fight, like they are fighting in the streets of East L.A. and beats Floyd's body, he stops Floyd late in the 8th.
Thanks for the question J.T.

confident i observed, mosley vs mayweather might only be a substantial distraction from the combat that everybody rather desires to work out MAYWEATHER vs. PACQUIAO might nevertheless prefer to work out mosley mayweather, yet shall we get the real buisness dealt with first, so we are able to finally see who's the real pound for pound king !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and for those saying mayweather selections his fighters, he's declared now hes out of retirement hes going after the excellent and hes only taken down marquez the 2d on the pound for pound rankings and while the huge style one (pacman) is executed with cotto, mayweather would be struggling with him, so what might u somewhat see, mayweather vs the huge style one p4p champ or shane mosley?

he will box the ears off Oscar...this is not some setup fight with a standing heavy bag who cant box like Mayorga was...the last time he was in with someone this fast he got his ears boxed off...twice...(Mosely) , Floyd has the handspeed and boxing savvy to get in and out on him much like Shane did, finally going inside and beating him to the punch later in both fights...Floyd will be moving in and out at angles and will be circling away from the left hook Oscar employs in the middle and the end of his sets...if you watch fight film Floyd moves well both directions getting out and in while Oscar is aloof moving to his right when throwing...this should give Floyd opportunities over Oscars right hand while moving away from the left hook that will follow...

Not by Wusscar Del Annoy-ya. Wusscar has never defeated a world-class opponent. I don't count Vargas, as Fernando was already damaged goods from his beatdown at the hands of Trinidad.
