My cat is five and we've just moved house, he's started spraying in just one spot on the wall near the door. He had the 'op' four years ago so what else can i do?

I had the same problem and tried everything! I tried to spray the wall with many different things but he would ignore that spot and chose another in the end a vet told me to stick some tin foil on the wall. The sound of the pee hitting the foil freaked my cat after a few goes he stopped altogether! He didn't do it in any other spot for fear of the 'strange' sound. He's fine now and we're both really happy!

There's a product called Feliway which you can get from the vets. It's meant to have some hormones in it that calm the cat down. Clean the area well, and then spray the Feliway around. It's a little expensive but I found it worth it.

At least your cat is only spraying the wall. My girl cat wet my duvet when she was upset at house moving. One bottle of Feliway was cheaper than getting the duvet cleaned!

Try wiping the wall down with Pure lemon Juice JIF or similar is the most convenient. Cats don't like the smell of it.

If your cat is a little stressed over the move, get some Valarium tablets from the chemists and give him half a tablet and see if that chills him out a little.
It works like catnip but better

There's something on the wall that is attracting him. Get an odor neutralizer, something like UrineOff or Nature Miracle . You can also try spraying him, when you catch him in the act, with a squirt bottle with a mix of vinegar and water as a deterrent.

You could try spraying the wall with a deterent. You can buy them from most pet shops - I got some from Pets at Home. It doesn't smell particularly pleasant, but it smells much worse to the cat and might put him off. Good luck!

Anything with lemon should keep ur kitty away, this is also a good tip if you wanna stop cats jumping on table tops etc, put some lemon around the rim. Just thot i'd mention that =)

There are these hormone things they look like airwick plug in freshners you can get from your vet, its suppose to calm him down. Or try rubbing a damp cloth over his scent glans and rubbing on the area in questions often. Hopefully when he goes to check he thinks its been done. I'm going through the same thing so good luck with yours :)

athough ur cat has been 'done' he will still go through the motions of marking his territory, pepper is a good 1 but he might sneeze,i wouldnt worry about it,there shouldn't be a smell, not 4 our noses anyway, good luck

This is common for male cats, he is just marking his new territory. That's why he is doing it by the door, so no one will come onto his property.

if you have only moved house he is scenting his house but feel sorry for the wee fella he has lost his scent from being neutered it should stop fairly soon as he is only marking his territory
