I went here and watche the video of the Daytona 500 again:

http://www.nascar.com/video/cup/2007/02/18/cup_finallaps_harvick.nascar/frameset.exclude.html?MostPopular

Nascar spokesman, Ramsey Poston, issued a statement saying the caution did come out after Clint Boyer slid into the infield on his roof. So this indicates that there is "no rule" that the cuation does "not" come out on the last lap. Obviously, it's suppose to. The Caution also doesn't come out on my playstation races. Obviously, it's suppose to. So what the heck are the rules? Why are they one way, one day, for some drivers and another way, another day, for other drivers? Some of you may hate me because I'm a Jeff Gordon fan, but I think you would agree with me that NASCAR needs to shape up their crap and apply rules to everyone and not just some drivers.

Yeah to Mr. know it all, they didn't even make the call that they claimed they made. I looked a the video and there was no caution after boyer caught fire. There was no caution at all for the remainder of the race. Like NASCAR said there was a caution.

They don't throw a caution for just the cars wrecking....that's stupid. If the caution comes out, everyone has to get behind the pace car. Everyone has to abide by it. So that includes harvick and Martin.

NASCAR has been very inconsistent about when caution flags are flown. It might have changed the outcome of the Daytona 500 had it come out a little sooner. I am not a Jeff Gordon fan but realize he is one of the best drivers in NASCAR. NASCAR is notorious for changing rules from race to race for no apparent reason.

To everyone lying to themselves claiming NASCAR did the right thing, please stop. NASCAR's rules and clear and inviolate. The caution is thrown whenever an accident occurs on the track. This was put in place and is preached at every drivers meeting for the safety of the drivers. The 'free pass' awarding a lap back to the 1st car a lap down was also implemented to prevent drivers racing back to the start finish line. With multiple cars wrecked in the middle of the track and a car sliding down the track on its roof, NASCAR spat on every driver ever injured on the track in the history of the sport by not throwing the caution flag.

As I see it,,,nascar has so many rules that they can't keep up with them, let alone the drivers and fans. Yes, the caution should have came out ,,,according to R Pemerton,,,as soon as the wreck happened,,,but it didn't.Why,,,nascar officials were confused with their own rules. But it's over and now they are going to make another rule to clear up the rule that they couldn't follow in the first place. Nascar,,,they are losing more fans with each passing race,,,,why,,,because they have turned it into a circus.. And,,,with the car of tomarrow,,,things will get even worse. I think I'll start watching Donald Duck reruns. At least we know that Donald is going to win.

Cautions are not thrown on the final lap because it's the last lap of the race. When Bowyer was upside down and 15 other cars were smashed together, Harvick and Martin were about to cross the start finish line unaffected by the carnage behind them.
Nascar does throw the yellow if a crash happens before turn 4 on the final lap and whoever's up front receives the win.

Once again it is called damage controll. How many of us
e-mailed or snail mailed NASCAR last week? Now all they can do is get a spokesman to aplease the fans and make NASCAR look good.Once they saw that there were cars"behind" the wreck they goofed for not showing the yellow, they wanted the fans to get their monies worth.

Have you heard any of the drivers views? One suggested a rule could be throwing the yellow, the yellow would only be for those cars wrecking. This would allow the cars racing for the win would do just that, race for the win.

NASCAR made the right call, so quit crying and get over it. it's at NASCARs descretion when to throw a caution flag, and since the wreck was BEHIND the leaders, the only thing that made since was to them race to the checkered flag.

BTW, jaun montoya WAS the driver who was messing around with his car during the prayer last sunday.

On TV today they showed new videos from a different angle. Those guys who call the yellow only had a 2 second lapse and the yellow WAS out.
