Creatine does cause kidney damage if it is not taken correctly. You need to take creatine with some sugar. Most creatine supplements (like Muscle Milk) contain some sugar and other ingredients to help your body digest it better. The biggest mistake people make when taking Creatine is not drinking enough water...that's where most of the kidney damage comes in. Creatine supplements are great, but like anything else, use them wisely and do your homework. Creatine alone will not give you the physique you desire. Hard work, a balanced diet, and moderate intake of any synthesized nutrition product will give you the best results.

Actually, Creatine is a very safe way to assist in muscle growth. I actually am drinking a creatine protein shake right now! It is just a supplement of protein, which is essential for muscles. By using more creatine and other proteins you will have the capacity to build stronger and bigger muscles. It wont do it for you. You must still work out and lift.
My fiance is 5'10''. He was working out consistently, lifting, and doing cardio, etc. He had very little body fat, great muscles, and weighed about 149 lbs. He was very skinny with muscles. He wanted to gain more muscle, but he wasnt eating enough calories or protien to do it. He started eating more protein, and continued his workout routine, and in a week he gained 10 lbs of muscle, which is what he had been trying to do for the last few months! Yes, if he stops drinking his creatine shakes or stops eating enough calories to sustain his muscles, they will shrink. Oh, and he has been taking creatine for the last 3 years or so, and I can absolutely testify it does NOT cause shrinkage!
