Does your child seem to loose interest if they have too many of the same kind of toy or does it increase their interest? My 21mo old daughter likes those Groovy Girl dolls and I found some on sale for $4.00 so I bought her a few more (she now has a total of 7) and it seems like she is almost overwhelmed by having so many and doesn't play with them as much.
My daughter is also interested in My Little Pony and has 3, should I reconsider starting a collection of them for her?
She has tons of books and never seems to get tired of sorting through them and looking at them. What's going on?

I find that the more toys (whether the same or not) is too much and doesn't get played with. Some of my friends rotate their kids toys.. puting them in storage and then switching them so they always have new toys. Less is better. Remember when we were kids and played with boxes and string and made dandelion necklaces. You don't need alot. My daughter had so many toys that she never used them. So I had a garage sale, re gifted them and kept only a few. She now acutally plays with some of her toys. The only age she realy played wiht toys is around 10 months to 1 1/2 2 years. My friends found the same thing too. Toys are only used when friends come over usually. There is too much selection and so they tend not to select any.

Having said that it is not right or wrong etiher way

Rotate the toys if she seems over stimulated when they are all available. That way the ones that get put away will almost seem new again when they are presented for play. I know just what you mean though, my boys have three different train sets. If we didn't do the rotating thing, they wouldn't touch one of them.
If your daughter seems uninterested in too much of the same thing, I wouldn't buy anymore ponies but maybe a little house for them or something. Put some water in the sink and tell her it's the pony beach or something....

Your spoiling ur kid, thats what is going on. Chill out on the toy buying. She doesnt like them anymore cuz she lost interest being around them all the time. If you keep this up, she will be spoiled. You should keep her toys to a minumim, that way she protects them more and holds an interest with them.
