I downloaded cursor mania and my computer turned into virus mania, I have anti-virus and it did stop these viruses before they started. I have heard nothing but bad news about cursor mania but I love the fun cursors. Any suggestions?

Julie,

Hi. Have you heard of the saying "Looks Too Good To Be True". This is what the creators of cursor's, screensavers, free chat sites and even some nice media players (bsplayer free) are now doing. They add spy ware installs along with their package. These spy ware used to be uninstall able or optional. However now the agreement is to require these spy ware that will monitor your browsing traits and flood you with advertisements, popups and other annoying things. Usually there is no harm to your PC. I haven’t looked into cursor mania much, but I would say they are safe but annoying. You never get a free lunch.

Their website looks like a 16 year old writing an 80’s website. Move on and find something better. However their site claims to have no spyware or adware within its installation. But it does seem it uses its own search engine. Check out the 1st source url for information regarding Cursor Mania”.

Now back to getting something as good, or something for free. I would bet, that it’s possible to extract the cursors from their installed version, and remove their software / spy ware and use these animations directly as files.

Also, try using Google images to download your own animations
