I went on a date with a really awesome guy last night....we just went to a bar and had some beers...the date didn't flow very well...I think we were both really nervous and shy, especially me...we would talk a lot for a couple minutes, then it would die...back and forth....he told me to call him when I was back in town...can I ask him out for a second date?

Sure ask him out again. And you are probably right both of you guys maybe shy and may take a while for you guys to open up but of he told you to call him then do so. Come up with another activity that only the two of you are at or at least in a more intiment setting where the two of you can communicate more personally instead of a bar.

Yes, go for it, especially if he's shy all the time (not just with you.) In my dating experiences, I've often found that a shy guy will think a date went great, even if YOU think it was a dud. Who knows, he might be perfectly used to awkward encounters. What may have been and "Umm...er..." nightmare to you might have been a great night in his eyes. Besides, he told you to call him, you have his permission. Good luck!

Of course you can ask him out for a second date! Just don't make it seem as though you are desperate or anything like that. Guys like it when a girl shows interest but not too much. Just relax and be yourself, it'll help the date run much more smoothly! Good luck and have fun!

Sure you can! As far as my experience goes, the first date is usually weird or else a bit too exciting. That last alternative is the best, because then there are feelings involved!
Just ask him out! Maybe you could go bowling or something similar, to make your minds more at ease.

Go for it, all he can say is "no." If you never ask the question, you may never get the answer. Its 2007, women need to take more control. I always tell girls to call me, when they want to hang out, no matter how much I like them. For me, its a confidence test, unfortunately most girls just send text messages, which to me doesn't show much confidence. Call him and try to make plans. If he blows you off, then find someone else.

If he was an awesome guy, I'd go for. Maybe try a place where you'd both be more comfortable? The more you're around each other the more comfortable you'll get around each other.

If your that into him I would...second time's the charm...you'll be more relaxed and if it doesn't flow...you'll know not to waste any more of your thoughts or time on him..
