Think about what the Kingdom of God or the presence of God means. It means love, hope, Faith, mercy and comfort. We ask God to bring these qualities to Earth, more specifically into our everyday lives.
Another important line to consider - We ask God to forgive our sins AS we forgive others. So if you are not willing to forgive others, you aren’t asking to be forgiven yourself.
Since this prayer represents the guidelines Christ gave us for prayer, it is really worthwhile to take time and think about what you are actually saying.

I heard a member of the watchtower (the Jehovah's Witnesses) tell my parents that "thy kingdom" in the Lord's prayer refered to God's government. isnt that crazy? The way i understood what he was saying is that God can't do it all alone so he has judges up there deciding whats going on. I think he either misunderstood what his church taught him, or his church is really wrong, but then again. Jehovah's Witnesses tend to twist everything Christians believe in so they can be different.
The kingdom of God is just that. A kingdom.

THEN, it looked forward to the time when the kingdom DID come.
Mark 9:1 Jesus said to them, “What I’m about to tell you is true. Some who are standing here will not die before they see God’s kingdom coming with power.”
The kingdom CAME during those peoples' lifetimes... Jesus answered Pilate about his kingdom that it was "not from this place" and taught others that the kingdom was "within them." Kingdom is therefore the dominion and reign of God IN OUR LIVES. With that in mind, "kingdom come" becomes the expansion of God's rule in our lives and the "spread" of the kingdom into new lives.

According to my dictionary, the term "Kingdom come" means: the hereafter; heaven. Heaven is often misunderstood to mean: "the abode of God, the angels, and the spirits of the righteous after death; the place or state of existence of the blessed after the mortal life. " but Heaven can also mean: "a place or state of supreme happiness."
So to answer the question, the statement could mean: A state of supreme happiness is coming.
