Americans used the atomic bombs in world war 2 before they knew exactly how bad they would be. They also weighed the cost of a land invasion of Japan. It is said that every man woman and child would have to be killed because they would not surrender. After that the United States never used them again.
The president of Iran is a "nutter" He wants to eliminate the state of Israel. His own words. Hitler was one of his heroes. The United States are not the only ones who don't think he should have nukes, the EU, Australia, and Israel feel this way as with many other countries.

The reason that there is a major issue with Iran developing nuclear weapons is that back in the 1960's they signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which strictly prohibits signature countries from developing them. Therefore, the real issue here isn't who has the right to the weapons, but the fact that if Iran is indeed developing them they are breaking a treaty. The treaty does allow for withdrawal, if the country feels nuclear weapons are needed for their protection; however, there are specific steps that a country must follow to withdrawal. Iran obviously hasn't followed those steps and appears to be acting in defiance to those charged with ensuring they keep their pledge.

Years ago, many countries within the United Nations signed on to the Nuclear Nonproliferation treaty. Basically, nations that already have nuclear weapons should try not to expand on their nuclear powers, and nations which do not have them yet should not try to pursue them. This is not just a U.S. thing or a 'Western' thing. China, Russia, France, India, Pakistan, Israel... they all have nuclear weapons. Japan could have them probably within weeks if needed.

The problem comes in when a radical government gets ahold of them and wants to USE them. In the case of Iran, it has a leader who has publicly said he doesn't think the Holocaust happened, and who supports groups who have called for the eradication of Israel at all cost. If Iran has nuclear weapons, where do you think the first one is going to go? The smart money there is Tel Aviv, and since Israel is known to have nukes as well, how do you see this one ending?

I would agree with you that it's not fair the U.S. and U.K. and other nations have WMD's and yet crack down so hard on other nations who are developing them, but only so far as we shouldn't have these WMD's ourselves. It's not fair for anyone to have them, and we are forced to live in a world where a few superpower nations attempt to act like they don't have agendas and try to police the world. It's unfortunate, but it balances out, because the superpower nations that are heavy-handed in this (like the U.S. is right now) suffer for it in the eyes of the world. Look how the U.S. is seen right now by so many people!

Yep America is the only country on earth to have ever used Nukes. We used them to attempt to bring to and end a terrible war WW2. Iran wants Nuclear weapons to use them as a Bullying device. And Iran's president has made the comments more than once that Israel should be eliminated from the face of the earth. One must also consider Iran's ties to TERRORIST groups. I don't think it would do any nation on earth any good should a NUKE end up in the hands of terrorist. Try and look at it this way. Would you want to give a Convicted Murderer with nothing to lose a GUN. I would hope Not.

Your question is really one for the books. We our fighting terrorist in the country. Just imagine if they had control of them right know. Your home town may be hit with one. Of course if you feel they need them then train yourself for a nuclear war. All countries with them know the destruction they can cause. The Nuclear bomb has been improved many times over since WWII. Those Nations have proved to use them only as a last result of defense. This is why you will see troop build ups instead of using the Nuke.

There is nothing fair about life and if that means denying a country like north Korea nukes then so be it and yes the US is the only country to use the bomb but is it wrong to kill a few hundred thousand of the enemy if it will saves tens of thousands of your own troops. You are pretty naive if you think everyone should have the bomb just because the US and Great Britton do.

It isn't. Britain, France , the US, Russia, India and Pakistan have them. Israel has them. Israel could nuke Tehran out of a fit of pique - knowing the right-wing Israeli, this is not an unimagineable scenario.

Let Iran develop her nuclear capability. It will add to the balance of power, which, currently, is weighted too much to the West.

Certain nations were given considerations favorable to them if they would sign an agreement to not attempt to produce nuclear weapons. Iran was one of the signers.
We are not dictating to anyone - - - a contract is a contract. If the signatures and agreements between nations mean nothing, then Iran has he ight to do whatever it wants to. But if it wants the respect of the world, it will live up to ita greements.
Your last statement is untrue. Iran had many tons of poison gas. they had pleanty of time to either hide it or ship it out to another country. Not finding is not the same as not having.

Gee, perchance we could desire to constantly spill the blood of 5,000 of our squaddies back, kill hundreds of hundreds of civilians, and flush yet another $3 trillion down the bathroom and invade Iran basically on the prospect they're arising nuclear weapons? attempt to seem at it from Iran's point of view, and attempt to be sure the U.S. interior an analogous place... On one border, Iran sees the U.S. invade Afghanistan. on the different border, they see the U.S. invade Iraq. in case you have been Iran does no longer you be slightly worried and want to ascertain your own protection? The Neo-con approach for the midsection East has been disastrous for our united states of america. Let's see. Britain, the US and Israel has never said they should eradicate another country from earth. I don't like nuces and wish no country had them. If Hitler had them in WWII you probably wouldn't have been able to ask this question. Extremist Muslims feel believe as they do or die. They cannot live in harmony with the rest of the world. They couldn't hit the US but they could hit most of Europe and that's just like hitting the US since we are allies.

Because the Iranians are totally unpredictable and irrational.
A nuclear weopon in there hands would be like a loaded water pistol in the hands of an eight year old in summer, you know for a fact there gonna use it but when (not IF) is the point.
They have a proven track record of aquiring nasty chemical and biological weopans, threatening to use them for there own selfish needs, and then using them when they get what they want anyway. There a dangerous and irresponable, western world hating people.
